But my sweetest Valentines memories were of my mother giving us presents and cards the morning of the day.
I am particularly thinking today of those who will not receive or give Valentines. I know its hard not to receive one, but the great paradox of life is that by giving youTricia Lowenfieldhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06313685514816835314noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9175133399921359495.post-28328164290490195942014-02-11T13:00:00.000-06:002014-02-14T16:28:28.886-06:00My Trip to an Orphanage in ChinaI got back two days ago from 10 days on a journeyI will never forget…
One of my best friends, Brook called right before Christmas and said God had told her to take me with her on a trip to China to work in an orphanage. The regular workers had the week off for Chinese New Year and so they needed volunteers to come and staff the orphanage during that time. I cried at the thought and said yes Tricia Lowenfieldhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06313685514816835314noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9175133399921359495.post-10863929370652455502013-11-21T20:41:00.002-06:002013-11-21T20:41:45.910-06:00Make a Christmas garland class at the studio

It seems like ages since I have had a chance to write but I have been working all summer long on a project at a downtown Houston church...First Evangelical Lutheran to be exact. It has been a wonderfully fun time and with a very few things left to do I thought it was time to reveal what I have been doing. The church was built in the 1920's and there were challenges with old walls made from Tricia Lowenfieldhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06313685514816835314noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9175133399921359495.post-44358767110307922042012-05-25T22:55:00.001-05:002012-05-25T22:55:57.803-05:00Black and White Striped TurtleneckI have a sister in New York that loves black and white striped socks, t-shirts and turtlenecks. So it made me think of her when I saw a parade of these birds out my farmhouse kitchen window this morning!
The bird is a "Killdeer". They like to walk and their call sounds like "kill deer"! I had never seen this bird before so I was shocked at their black and white striped turtlenecks!

It is terrible to feel guilty for doing a bit of art when you know every minute should be devoted to getting the studio finished so we can move to the farmhouse!
