I have had one of the busiest Christmas seasons ever and never have been able to put out my open sign....so I am doing the next best and trying to post some last minute things with great prices.

A New Painting

I have been working on a commissioned painting for several months and finally finished it today. It's 4'x8' so I painted it in 3 panels.

Baby Robins at Last!!

Okay so I know I am obsessed with the robins, but for someone who has avoided birds her whole life it's kind of like a child like discovery so please bear with me!! haha

This week we got back from Scotland and the minute we pulled into the driveway I jumped out to see if the robins had been hatched. And sure enough there was one baby with it's mouth wide open and no parents around. My camera had a dead battery from the trip so I didn't capture the moment that day. The next day it rained really hard and I went to check and the mama bird was sitting on top of her babies and took the rain for them.

Then yesterday I finally got the pictures I had been wanting to show you. There were not one but TWO babies!!! So here they are.

 Two days ago they had a lot more fluffy stuff on them. 

I think they are about 9 days old.

And then this morning the mama bird is back watching guard.

Booksigning on Saturday in Houston

There is a cute little bookstore in Houston that reminds me of the one in the movie "You've Got Mail". I was there a couple of weeks ago for a friend's book signing and fell in love with the shop. They have a beautiful selection of every kind of book. Well... someone mentioned that I had written a couple books and the owner had me bring them in the next week and now they carry them there AND he asked if I would do a book signing. So the week has come for that.

This Saturday April 30 I will be at The River Oaks Book Store from 3-5pm.

A Quote on Eating

The season of Lent is fast upon us. A time of giving up something for 40 days until Easter. Some kind of food is usually first on people's minds. Anyway, I saw this quote at a local eatery called Hubble and Hudson. Thought you might enjoy it as well.

Grace

There is an exhibit right now at the wonderful Victoria and Albert Museum in London on Grace Kelly. My husband got to meet her once in Florida when he was on spring break in college. Actually it wasn't that big a deal to him as his roommate at the time was her son. The exhibit features clothes from her Hollywood days and the clothes made for her wedding trousseau.  I know a little girl in Glasgow who better make some time to go see this so she can tell me all about it!!
