Bedtime Prayers

My husband told me the cutest story that came from a sermon I missed but goes something like this. A mama went to pray with her little girl at bedtime. The daughter had a hurt so they were praying for it to be better. As the mother prayed, she noticed the little girl had her mouth open wide. After she had finished praying she asked her why she had opened her mouth so wide while she prayed. The daughter replied that in order for Jesus, who lives in her heart ,to be able to hear the prayer.

Day 2 at the New Space

I am exhausted...we put in new flooring in the front room. It looks good, but even after working all day there is the trim that still has to be put in. There is great pleasure and satisfaction from doing hard labor... I think....

Surprise

I have some clients that have become close friends to me who have urged me to have a store. I have had stores before but never here in The Woodlands. So ....two days ago i rented a space!! I am so excited and am busy painting and making the space my own. It's on the smallish side and in a not well traveled area so i am going to called it my studio and it for now will only be open when I am there. I want you to keep up with the progress of my fixing up the space. So here are the "in progress pics". I can't wait to see what the "after" looks like!!

Today I stumbled upon a picture I had never seen before... My girls tease me because they insist our home is filled with bunnies, lambs, tartan plaid and red gingham.  I am wondering what this means...

Graduation Day for Nancy Page

Today my eldest got her undergraduate degree in American Studies and Political Science from Vanderbilt University.

Her wonderful god parents threw her the most amazing graduation party the night before graduation.

One of her favorite Professors came as well as loads of friends and family.

I fell in love with all the school flags that led the processional at graduation. I am sure they will end up in one of my paintings very soon!!
The Chancellor of Vanderbilt gave the graduation talk and the highlights for me were: to follow what intrigues you and what animates you. Don't you love that?? And he said to live out your passions and to WORK HARD.
Wow...a University graduate! What next?!

A few months ago,I got wished a Happy Mother's day in the UK since one of my daughter's is in school there and their mother's day is in March,. So I will share with you her lovely sentiments:

Okay I know it's weird to brag to brag on a child, but I am on the edge of my seat waiting for my daughter's card line to come out. Here is a glimpse of her anniversary card. The little girl's face makes my heart melt!!

Inspiration

Last month I did one of my favorite things which was to go to Round Top an antique extravaganza that always makes me feel like I am in England. One of the best venues happens at a place called Marburger Farm. There are loads of huge white tents and the most amazing booths from vendors from all over the world. I always leave with something amazing even if it is only inspiration. This is what inspired me this year. It's all from Austria from a store called Alpin Antiks.

One of my best friends recently had a child who got married and this is the invite I did for their party to celebrate getting married.

It's Just Two Words

I am reminded of the importance of thank you...
Late last night I got a call from one of my daughters who had been working very hard at her part time college job. It was the last night and the work had been especially taxing. All she wanted was to hear two words....but instead heard nothing and it reduced her to tears. It reminds me to work harder at using those two words more often myself.
