I went to the Dallas market a couple months ago and picked up some darling belts. I have to say that I have been eyeing them for years and just had to get some to put in the studio. Besides being beautiful, they support women in Peru .The big catalogs sell them for $68 but I have them for $55. Let me know if you are interested. they look great with jeans and about everything else.

Kelvingrove Museum
I just found some photos of the Kelvingrove Museum in Glasgow ,Scotland from my trip there last June. It is an amazing museum with the most wonderful mix of art.
Here is a tease, but you must go and see it sometime for yourself.(Isn't it nice that they allow photography!)

I only saw men wearing kilts, none on women.
Can you tell I am in love with all tartan??!! Tartan tails!!
Love the quote
Mary Cassatt one of my favorite artists
Mary Moore one of my other favorite artists
This statue is all white and so tender of a father with his daughter. Speaking of fathers, I just got back from seeing the movie"Courageous"! Don't miss it. Run don't walk. It is wonderful. A must see.
There is also a natural history part with an amazing display of animals. The bird is in the foreground and an elephant and ostrich are on the floor below. I am on a balcony looking down.Love this painting!
They also have a lovely gift shop.

Weekend Wedding
I went to a lovely wedding this past weekend in Taylor Texas near Austin. This was my second wedding weekend in two weeks!
They were both lovely and both totally different from one another.
This is the lovely Bekah walking down the outdoor aisle with her darling daddy. Her bouquet was a collage of vintage jewelry! No tossing those flowers...it could have knocked someone out cold!! But a fun idea of a different way to do the flowers.
The ceremony was held on the porch.
These two children handed out the programs from apple baskets. The steps were lined with white pumpkins.

The bride rode atop on old MG to meet her dad to walk down the aisle.
Natural looking baby's breath marked the aisles.
The Groom's mom hosted the very popular color inspired candy bar.
This is the gift we gave her.
Have a wonderful life together Kevin and Bekah!!!

CS Lewis Wisdom
Listening to my eldest daughter this weekend and hearing an awesome sermon this morning from my husband reminds me of this quote:
Lois Lenske
I love the illustrator Lois Lenske. I grew up with her books. Recently my little friend Joseph was reading this book and i couldn't help but take a few snapshots.
Just simple and sweet.

Home
I remember in my twenties I lived in one room that I rented from a large house. I have a daughter that is doing the same right now.
This summer there was a House Beautiful magazine that paid homage to those that live in small spaces. Here are some of their quotes:

Tile Mirror of Musicians
I recently finished a project for a powder room that was painted a lovely shade of grayish blue. I was asked to create a new mirror and light fixture .I took a painted sample of the color of the wall to the paint store and asked for two more shades in the same family to go with the original wall color.
Here is what happened:
The lamp has one of the flower tiles, a fun little finial and is painted in the same colors as the light fixture over the mirror.
This is a close up of the light fixture while it was still in my studio. The little flower tiles make of clay showed up all over this bathroom. The original fixture before I painted it was very modern and silver shiny and made to hang the opposite direction. I flipped it over took off the globes that it came with and added metal lamp shades.
Here is what happened:
A peak from right outside the room

Every other tile has a different musician. You can see them here.
The tiles in between are painted to look like wallpaper.

Taking pictures of mirrors is still a mystery to me how not to include myself in the shot!!
